The first and third teams played in Bensheim at the weekend and each ended with a 4-4 draw. You don’t really know whether you should be happy about it or not. Both Bensheim teams were and are still leaders in their groups. In both games the score was 4-3 when the final mixed doubles had just begun, and both mixed doubles went to the hosts in overtime in the third set. It must be noted that there was more to it.
In the first team’s catch-up game in the South Association Class, Abdullah and Jannik won their second men’s doubles, while Theresa and Lucia had to give up their doubles. Pascal and Chris won their first men’s doubles as expected, but Jannik narrowly lost his third men’s singles in the second set with 20:22. Abdullah had a similar story with 19:21 in the second men’s singles, while Theresa won a very competitive women’s singles with 23:21 18:21 21:19. Pascal won his first men’s singles confidently in 2 sets before Chris and Lucia lost after an exciting game 23:21 12:21 21:23. With 4:2 points the team is now in 3rd place. There will be double game days on each of the next two weekends. After that you will see which direction it goes.
In the third team, Carla was able to score twice. In the women’s doubles together with Silke, she won just as clearly in two sets as she also won in the women’s singles. Uwe and Jürgen contributed the other points in their men’s singles. After four away games with three draws, the team is currently in fifth place in District League B with 3:5 points.
