In Third Federation, the final stretch of the match between Portugalete and Lagun Onak was very turbulent. When the end of the regulation ninety minutes approached, the referee went to the La Florida field delegate to tell him that one of his linemen had “felt threatened”, so he demanded the expulsion of two fans to resume the match. .
Before a first moment of astonishment from those present, the two accused of uttering said threats left the field, while the game remained paralyzed. Almost immediately afterwards, other young people located in the same part of the stands accompanied the two expelled people on their own, also leaving the facilities. Next to said group were two directors of the jarrillero club, who defended that “they have only told him that he is blowing the whistle wrong and that he has caught the offside.”
They consider that the referee’s decision was excessive, since “no one approached the lineman’s position in violent behavior and, from where they were, it is more than two meters away,” they argue from the club. The strangeness continued later, since that same lineman was injured a few minutes after this mess, finding himself unable to continue doing his job.
Therefore, the injury time of the match was played without a lineman in the area where Portugalete constantly attacked, in search of an equalizing goal. A draw that came in the last play of the match (1-1), in a corner taken by Hugo Cabanas that Gonzalo Zorrilla headed in to keep the Portuguese undefeated and in the lead, after the first nine days of the league.
