The suspects are accused of stealing, armed with a baseball bat to threaten staff and using a tear gas grenade, the cash register and cigarette cartons.

This operation therefore follows a theft at similar procedure occurred on Saturday, November 23 in Villeneuve-en-Retz, where a tobacco shop was also attacked by two hooded and gloved individuals, armed with a baseball bat and a tear gas bomb, which they also used .

The two arrested suspects will also have to answer for this first robbery, where around €200 in cash was stolen, as well as €7,000 to €7,500 in tobacco. In their flight, they had also forgotten a bag.

The gendarmes were able to identify the suspects’ vehicle thanks to the recordings of video surveillance.
