This year’s Tyrolean Badminton Championships once again brought great performances and, above all, medals for the local racket artists! 4x gold, 1x silver and 2x bronze in the general class, 1x gold, 4x silver and 9x bronze in the student classes U11, U13, U15!
Last weekend, Tyrol’s elite in the general class and the young players in the student classes U11, U13 and U15 met again in the Nußdorf-Debant badminton hall for the sporting battle for the coveted medals. 57 badminton aces from eight different clubs gathered in the multi-purpose hall in Debant, which was converted into a badminton hall with eight courts for these championships. Belonged in the general class Irina Olsacher and Emanuel Schöpf to the contenders for victory, both were unbeatable that day and secured it Individual titles for women and men. Together, Irina and Emanuel also won the gold medal in mixed doubles! Irina Olsacher secured the gold hat trick with her partner Karin Mayer from Jenbach in the women’s doubles, Emanuel Schöpf had to meet with partner Hans-Peter Waltl in a close game against a Jenbacher double in the final game and settled with the Silver medal be content! A bronze medal each in the women’s singles Sabrina Köfele and in mixed doubles from Sophie Unterguggenberger/Edi Blaßnig rounded off the top result!
The students could Jonas Gerold with one Gold medal in the U11 class win his first title. Three times silver could Lina Korber secure girls in singles, doubles and mixed doubles for our club in the U15 class, three bronze medals earned itself Ana Obergantschnig in the same disciplines in the U13 class, won two medals David Berger, Elena Korber, Leo Jungmann and Marie Lumasegger, with a medal they were still able to Sophie Mandler and Frieda Lumasegger decorate. Our up-and-coming young talent can continue to hope for success and medals in tournaments and championships for our club in the future!
As usual, the tried and tested tournament management with Karl Holzer and Tomi Blaßnig ensured that the tournament ran smoothly and quickly. At the award ceremony that followed, the new Tyrolean champions were awarded medals and small gifts, concluding a successful tournament day!

As part of the Tyrolean championship he also became a section leader Eddie Blaßnig honored for his tireless commitment to the sport of badminton. ASVÖ district representative Georg Nöckler presented him with a small gift as part of the ASVÖ Tirol’s “Engaged like you” campaign and the vice president of the Tyrolean Badminton Association Andreas Pesserer also had nothing but praise for Edi’s commitment.
