Seahorse Mikawa U15 participated in the “14th Toyota Tsusho Cup 6th Aichi Prefecture U15 Basketball Championship 2024” held from Saturday, October 19th to Sunday, November 17th, 2024.

Although they lost in the semifinals, they won the third place match and finished the tournament in 3rd place.

Despite the support of many people, the result was very disappointing. I am very sorry that I will have to lower the 2nd place in the tournament that I received from my seniors next year and pass it on to the next generation.

I was once again reminded that it is not easy to achieve a goal. Utilizing this experience, I will learn the importance of preparation to fight in a one-shot match and the ability to perform to the best of my ability in the actual competition, which I will use for the next time.

My time as a U15 player will be my last on the biggest stage of the youth tournament. Using the disappointment of this championship as a springboard, I will work hard at practicing without wasting the rest of my youth career until March, and I will do my best to enter the high school category with a smile on my face. We will also do our best to build a team that can be supported by a variety of people.

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for their support.In this tournament, the team did not perform well in the 1st and 2nd quarters, making things difficult, and there were many matches where we had to hold back. I think it was a tournament where we had clear challenges both as individuals and as a team.

This is the match against MRSea Jr U15 in the 3rd place deciding match. The entire team was depressed after losing in the semi-finals, and I myself was nervous as we had to win at all costs. There were many periods in this match where we had to be patient, and the match continued to be difficult for a long time. However, the entire team worked together towards the goal of winning, so we were able to come out victorious in the end.

I would like to use my remaining four months to improve on the issues I faced in this tournament, both personally and as a team, and do my best to achieve better results than last year. Thank you for your support.

It was a competition that presented many challenges. The matches continued to be tough, and we were able to learn how to switch things up when we can’t play the way we want. Personally, this tournament gave me confidence as I was able to put pressure on the opposing players with my defense and reduce the number of points I scored.

In the 3rd place match against MRSea Jr U15, the game progressed at the opponent’s pace in the first half, but in the second half, they changed their mindset and came together as a team to win the game with their defense. The desire to win led to the result.

I will never forget the frustration of losing in this tournament, I will definitely grow, and I want to stand on the main court where I couldn’t be with my seniors last year.

There were many difficult moments where the game did not go as planned. However, this year’s team showed its tenacity to the fullest and was able to persevere and play the game.
In the semi-finals, we continued to struggle to get shots. Furthermore, we were overwhelmed by the atmosphere of the venue and couldn’t find our own flow until the end. It wasn’t a result that either I or the team were satisfied with, but we were able to do what we’ve been doing so far.

The match that particularly left an impression on me was the 3rd place match against MRSea Jr U15. This game started with a 0-10 run and was a tough one. They were able to close the gap at one point, but they fell behind again in the second quarter.

However, in the second half, they were able to use the outside and inside positions, which they were not able to do in the semi-finals, and they used a lot of cutting in the half-court offense, so the offense was not too heavy, and they were able to play the basketball they wanted to play, and by keeping the pace, they won the game. I was able to.

In preparation for the CHAMPIONSHIP, we would like to improve our strengths that we have seen through this tournament, at the same time overcome our challenges, unite once again, and work even harder to surpass the records set by our seniors. is.

I feel great that this tournament ended with a disappointing 3rd place. I was not able to demonstrate my full potential in the final round, so I feel a responsibility as vice-captain.

This game was a difficult one as individual players couldn’t make 3-point shots, and in the end, their mental weakness led to the team losing. It left an impression on me because it was a match in which we were unable to reach our goal of winning the championship.

At CHAMPIONSHIP, the entire team will continue to practice hard, using the results of this tournament as fuel, so that we can make full use of what we have accumulated through daily practice, and the Seahorse’s strengths such as tenacious defense, fast offense from defense, and 3-point shooting. They were overwhelmed by the opposing team’s spirit and were unable to get a good momentum going, losing in the semifinals. I was left with a feeling of regret that cannot be expressed in words. However, I would like to think of this loss as a positive experience that will lead to improvements in the future.

At CHAMPIONSHIP, I will aim to be better than the “top 12” from the year before last, and for the remaining four months I will make efforts to correct the areas of improvement that I was able to notice during this tournament. I will do my best to grow and achieve the team’s goals! Thank you for your continued support.

Losing in the semi-finals was such a shock that even now I don’t even realize it was real. The most disappointing thing was that we couldn’t play our style. But I believe that this feeling will definitely help me.

This is #0 Toma Miyagi of MRSea Jr U15. He is a player I have known since his days in the minibus, and I was impressed by how he was able to score points on his own and lead the team to the top four.

I think the challenge for the team is to get off to a good start in the first quarter, aiming to further improve individual skills. We want to keep up our pace, advance to the finals, and win one game at a time.

My goal was to win the championship, so I was filled with frustration when I lost in the semifinals. In the 3rd place match, we changed our mindset and came together as a team to win.

I suffered a stress fracture in my foot in the summer, and I was unsure if I would be able to regain my movement in time for this tournament, but thanks to my coaches, trainers, and team members, I was able to participate in the tournament in good condition. thank you very much.

We were trailing by 13 points and were just a step away from making a comeback, leaving us with a disappointing result, but there were also moments when we felt the strength of everyone coming together as one. We will definitely make use of the experience of this loss in our next match.

There were many games in this tournament where we weren’t able to play as well as we could in the first quarter and couldn’t create a good flow, so I think that’s an issue we need to address.

For the remaining four months, I will practice while communicating with my teammates and do my best to challenge the CHAMPIONSHIP in the best possible condition.
