UAT student stands out in the Junior Pan American Judo Cup – El Decidor

Eduardo Sagástegui Becerra, student at the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas (UAT), stood out in the brilliant performance that the Mexican National Team had in the Junior Pan American Judo Cup held in Montreal, Canada.

Sagástegui won a bronze medal in the -60 kilogram division, contributing to the medal haul of the Mexican delegation.

In this contest, the national representative obtained seven medals: one gold, three silver and three bronze.

The Montreal 2024 Junior Pan American Cup is a competition that is part of the qualifying process towards the Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games.

The Victorian judoka Eduardo Sagástegui Becerra works intensely to reach the most important stages internationally, thereby raising the name of the UAT, which, under the leadership of the rector Dámaso Anaya Alvarado, has strengthened its support for students who are promises of sport.

According to the Mexican Judo Federation, during the following year the two remaining events will be held that will count as qualifiers for Asunción 2025, where national athletes, such as Eduardo Sagástegui, will try to secure their place by adding points for the ranking world.
