University football: Bishop’s Gaiters defeated in semi-final

The Wilfrid Laurier University Golden Hawks gave the Bishop’s University Gaiters a tough time in the Canadian university football semi-final. Wilfrid Laurier led the entire match, ending the game with a score of 48-24.

The Ontario team was not impressed by the Gaiters’ season, so far undefeated this year.

Xavier Gervais allowed the home team to score the first three points, with a field goal.

Wilfrid Laurier’s team, which captured victory, won the Uteck Cup and, at the same time, obtained its ticket to the Vanier Cup.

Remember that the match, which started at noon on Saturday, was played for the very first time on Coulter Field in Lennoxville. Holding such a sporting event required rigor and organization, one week after the Loney Bowl final.
