Last Saturday, the Sports Association club of Val d’Erdre-Auxence (Asvea) basketball received a Mini-basketball label from the departmental basketball committee. « This moment is a real honor for our association, because it symbolizes much more than a simple recognition, it is a reward for collective work, unfailing commitment and shared passion. », rejoiced Florian Menet, the president, when receiving this distinction from the hands of Daniel Renier, of the Maine-et-Loire basketball committee.
The application file for obtaining this award was quite complete, and the club really put in the resources to be able to obtain it. Indeed, Florian Menet returned to the numerous activities carried out throughout the last season. First of all, the club organized baby basketball events (5 to 7 years old) which brought together clubs from Segréen. Then, the club’s young U7 athletes met during the April holidays for mornings of basketball and egg hunt activities. « We also dedicated a meeting to cleaning the streets of the townadded the president, in order to raise children’s awareness of sorting and environmental actions. » It is, among other things, all these cumulative efforts which made it possible to obtain this diploma.
As members of the office specified, the children, by practicing this sport, a sort of school of life, learn the fundamental values: respect, solidarity, effort and, of course, the pleasure of playing together. .

The president wanted to thank the young players, but also their parents « who have an essential role »the educators and coaches who give their time, all the club volunteers « and in particular our former president, Gilbert Le Tréquesser, and Elodie Begu, who initiated this project ».
The municipality was also cited for its material support « which allows us to offer the 80 mini-basketball players a meeting place ». The departmental basketball committee was accompanied by its sponsors, who subsidized, for the occasion, a gift certificate which was given to the club.
With the label in its pocket, the club must continue on this path of excellence, « in order to offer a quality, safe and friendly environment, where each child can fully flourish ».
