At the end of the great victory of his Varese Basketball team against Virtus Bologna, coach Mandole spoke about the match and the transfer market in this way in the press conference.
Mandole’s words: “We have changed our face compared to the match against Trieste. There we spent very few fouls, today we had some foul problems but none of the players were discouraged. We talked and worked hard during the week, and today we won by playing the way we wanted. At the end of the match against Trieste nobody felt well, but now we are all in a different mood, we did what we wanted to do.”
On Brown’s low playing time: “It was a choice, I thought he didn’t do well in defense. I think Elisèe (N’Guessan ed.) instead did very well, and I left him on the pitch more, as did Alviti.”
On Hands and the discussion at the end of the third quarter: “Jaylen is a player who sometimes does things that go very well. At times he’s a bit lazy and needs a few minutes on the bench, then he came back well and if we look at the whole game he did some important things.”
On the market and Librizzi’s performance: “Now we wait for Tyus. Having another point guard along with a Librizzi like that is a nice problem to have for a coach. At the beginning of the season we thought he had about ten minutes on the pitch, but today he did very well again. He is at the beginning of his adventure as captain, he wanted to do it and he felt ready. I talk to him and get angry with him, but when the game ends we’re all in the same boat. I’m happy for the boy.”
