VEENENDAAL This year’s Big Club Campaign has achieved a record. The campaign passed the twenty million euro mark for the first time: this year the counter stopped at 20,915,925 euros. A huge achievement by the 6,022 participating clubs throughout the Netherlands who together sold more than 6.9 million tickets. Associations from Veenendaal together raised almost 100,000 euros: 96,067.20 euros in total.

The Great Club Campaign not only breaks its own record, but also exceeds the results of other national fundraising campaigns that are committed to club life. This additional income is very welcome, especially in view of the austerity plans from The Hague.

BIG IMPACT

It is a huge amount of money with an even greater impact for all participating associations. The money raised by the clubs is used for extras such as new materials, renovation of changing rooms or celebrating an anniversary. The diversity of savings goals is at least as great as the diversity of participants. Football clubs, scouting groups, athletics clubs, dance clubs and dozens of other types of associations participate. The average revenue for an association this year is 2,778 euros. That is more than 1,100 euros more than what clubs raised three years ago.

STRENGTHEN VITALITY

“Associations are the place where people work together to experience their sport, hobby or cultural interest in a special way and make it accessible to others,” says director Frank Molkenboer of the Grote Clubactie. “Our goal is to strengthen the vitality of associations in the Netherlands. Our lottery is the way for associations to get their people moving and involved in a common goal. We grow with the times and remain as successful as ever.”

The campaign has a sympathetic character because the members and volunteers of the association are committed to their club. In this way, members contribute to realizing financial challenges within the association. By selling raffle tickets, thousands of associations receive a financial incentive every year. Eighty percent of the proceeds go directly to the club treasury.

This year the following clubs in the municipality of Veenendaal participated and raised the following amounts:
