Mazatlán responded in the third inning, when Fabricio Macías opened the round with a double and after Ramiro Peña was out, Alonso Gaitán responded with an RBI single. In the play, Gaitán reached the second mat in a play that was reviewed and which led to Matt McDermott’s expulsion from the match.
The party continued for the Buenos Aires team and although Phillip Ervin was put out of action, Luis Avilés Jr. put the Buenos Aires advantage with another single.
