Will Venezuela lose to the USA for the fourth time in a row? We will examine these and other interesting questions in our prediction for the match on the third match day of the WBSC group stage. The tournament is not going ideally for both teams. The duel could hold some surprises.
Venezuela
Venezuela looks like a potential “dark favorite” of the competition. But there is still a catastrophic lack of stability. Yesterday the team surprisingly lost against Panama (2:4), leaving Mexico (8:4) with no special chances. The South Americans had previously only finished seventh at the Pan American Games. This time it won’t be easy for the “three-colored team” either. Especially considering there are only two playoff spots.
USA
The US continues to improve as the competition progresses, which should produce acceptable results. The team looks impressive compared to much of the competition and has a colossal sense of superiority when it comes to player selection. Last night, the North Americans broke the resistance of the Dutch without any effort (12:2), thereby partially rehabilitating themselves to their fans for the earlier defeat against Puerto Rico (0:1). The promising Matt Shaw, who shone with outstanding statistical performances (three runs, four hits and seven RBI), particularly stood out.
Editorial forecast
We firmly believe that this match will be under the dictatorship of the USA. The representatives of North America have a significant class advantage, and we expect them to once again exploit the weaknesses of their modest opponents very cleverly. A victory for the nominal guests with a handicap of -1.5 is the optimal choice for the game.
