In broad daylight, a man climbs onto the baseball field of the Joliet Slammers from Illinois (USA). But Victor S. doesn’t want to hit any balls, but instead wants to improve his Christmas budget. The 52-year-old stole decorations worth $45,000 (around 42,700 euros).

Baseball team searches for the Grinch

The Joliet Slammers have a rude awakening just before their Glow Holiday Festival. Three lighted reindeer are missing from Duly Health & Care Field, the baseball team’s stadium. On both November 11th and 12th, a man climbed onto the site, packed the almost four-meter-high decoration onto his pickup truck and ran off.

On Facebook, the team is asking for help in the search: “Help us identify this Grinch trying to steal the holiday cheer at Slammers Stadium! Earlier this week, this Grinch drove by and took three reindeer from the grounds right before our big Glow Holiday Festival was supposed to take place!”

And the police actually managed to make an arrest a short time later! On Monday (November 25th) Victor S. is arrested. According to the investigation, he is said to have sold the decorations and made $45,000 (around €42,700). The authorities released the American for the time being with a summons.
