The Valle delegation stood out on the second day of judo of the National Youth Games, taking the two gold medals in dispute in the women’s branch. The first gold medal was won by Wendy Vanessa Golu Crespo in the 52 kilogram category, who defeated Yiris Charlot Ortiz Gallego of Bogotá in the final.
The second gold prize went to Mayra Alejandra Solís Quiñones, who defeated Isabela Gutiérrez from Antioquia in the final of the 57 kilogram category. In the men’s division, Keiner Stiven Sánchez Gárnica, from Santander, was crowned champion by beating Emanuel Alexander Rodríguez from Bogotá. In men’s handball, he played the first date of the tournament at the Armenian Multisport Coliseum. Antioquia defeated San Andrés 51-7, with Martín Montoya as the best player and scorer of the match. In another match, Valle del Cauca defeated Caldas 35-23, with Manuel Campo standing out as the best player and Donovan Medina as the scorer.
The local team, Quindío, was also victorious against Córdoba 37-23, with Samuel David Salazar as the best player and scorer of the match. The last match of the day, between Bogotá and Atlántico, ended with a 33-30 victory for the latter, with Edwin Cortinas from Atlántico standing out with 9 goals. In badminton and para badminton, a total of 38 matches were played at the Coliseo Menor de Pereira. The victories were for the teams from Valle, Antioquia, Risaralda, Quindío, Santander, Cundinamarca and Bogotá in the men’s and women’s divisions. In badminton, the winners were Santander, Sucre, Bogotá, Cundinamarca and Córdoba.
In PC soccer, in Manizales, Córdoba beat Bogotá 4-0, with a double from Andrés Felipe Bula Cohen. In the other match, Boyacá defeated Norte de Santander 3-2 in a very close match. The PC soccer day continues this Monday, November 25 with the matches Valle vs Bogotá and Córdoba vs Boyacá.
