Votroci in Liberec fought to a 0:0 draw and did not lose in the league for the fifth time in a row

Votroci improved their away balance before the national team break, winning five points out of nineteen on their opponents’ pitches. Hradec Králové had to do without the carded Vlkanova and the injured stopper Čihák, two big supports in the course of the season so far. Spáčil and Mihálik prepared for the next match against Plzeň, which the East Bohemians will play at home in two weeks on Saturday.

In the second minute, Pilař got an interesting shot from the right side. His hard shot was deflected by the home goalkeeper Bačkovský for a corner. In the seventh minute, he got past Kodeš Višinský, but his shot from an angle was blocked by Zadražil in his gloves. After a communication error by the Liberec defense, Hradec’s Kučera shot from the edge of the box after a quarter of an hour of play. However, his shot was aimed high above Bačkovski’s goal.

The Votroks did not manage to play long balls, attempts to quickly transition into the attack usually ended up in the car or on the opponent’s boots. In the 30th minute, the home defense made a terrible mistake. Kodeš and Zadražil did not agree on how to solve the situation after a long ball for the defense and this created a huge chance for Letenay, who could not hit the empty goal from a wide angle.

The home football players continued their activity in the rest of the first half. Višinský pounced on a cross from the right side, but his header did not have enough impact, so Zadražil scored another save. In the 37th minute, the goalkeeper of Hradec capitulated. After winning the fight in the middle of the field, Hlavatý got into a good shooting position and cleared the ball into the lower left corner of the goal with a beautiful technical shot.

The goal joy of the former Pardubice player was spoiled by the video referee, who sent the referee Rouček to the screen, who subsequently called off the leading goal of Liberec. Five minutes before the end of the first half, the score remained goalless. Even a five-minute setup didn’t bring anything interesting.

Ševinsky had a huge chance right at the beginning of the second act, who pounced on Hlavaty’s cross from the corner flag. However, he only hit Zadražil’s shoulder from the edge of the small goal area, from where the ball bounced off the crossbar and back into the game, where Hradec’s number one finally found it between the three posts.

Even though home team Liberec was more active, Votroci also got into several opportunities. Juliš was in a decent position, and he was looking for Kučera in the box. Kayondo solved the situation positively for Slovan with a rather breakneck defensive tackle. A lot of fighting football was played, which did not offer many beautiful events.

Although the visitors got more into the game during the second half, it did not lead to great chances. Both teams defended well, with the attacking efforts on both sides having many inaccuracies. Slovan had a good opportunity a minute before the end of regular time. Ševínský got to the deflected ball again, but his shot was blocked by one of the defending players. Even the final pressure of Liberec did not bring the desired goal, so the match at U Nisa Stadium ended goalless.
