The German basketball star Franz Wagner has to do without his partner Paolo Banchero for weeks at the Orlando Magic in the NBA.
As the Florida franchise confirmed, the 21-year-old suffered a torn right abdominal muscle; there is no exact expectation of downtime. Further forecasts should follow in four to six weeks.
This means there is now additional pressure on Wagner, who signed a five-year contract worth up to $224 million in the summer. Former number one pick Banchero has led the team with an average of 29 points and over eight rebounds per game.

On Monday he achieved a personal best with an outstanding 50 points in the 119:115 win against the Indiana Pacers.
Banchero was selected first in the 2022 draft and has improved his performance in every season since then. Last season, he became the youngest player in NBA history to lead his team in points, rebounds and assists and was voted an all-star for the first time.
