The Kanpai Judo Club completed an excellent performance in the Aragon absolute judo championship, held in Monzalbarba last weekend. With four judokas in the competition, the club demonstrated its high level and commitment, achieving three medals and an outstanding fifth place.
Kanpai teacher and coach, Leo Cruz, won the silver medal in the -73 kg category. After winning three fights, Leo advanced to the final, where he fell just short of the title by falling in the last match. This medal ensures him a place in the Spanish championship sector, which will take place in Barbastro on November 16.
In addition, judokas David García and Juan Gordo completed a very good performance by winning two bronze medals in the -60 kg and -81 kg categories, respectively. Both showed great skill and effort in each fight, reflecting the excellent work done during the season.
Ignacio Gracia achieved a creditable fifth place. Unfortunately, an injury in the last fight prevented him from continuing in the competition.
The performance of the Kanpai Judo Club in this championship highlights the fruit of the collective effort and preparation of its athletes. With his sights set on the Spanish championship, Leo Cruz will seek to continue his streak of success, while the young judokas África Arrocha and Samuel Ventura are preparing to compete in the Spanish Children’s and Cadet Cup that will be held on the same date.
The club hopes to continue achieving great results and confirm the good level that its athletes have been showing.
