Basketball super talent Victor Wembanyama recorded values of at least five in the five most important statistical categories in the NBA on Thursday (local time).
In his San Antonio Spurs‘ 106:88 win over the Utah Jazz, the Frenchman had 25 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, five blocks and five steals. Such a “5×5” is extremely rare and only Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon and the Russian Andrei Kirilenko have achieved it more than once.
Olajuwon achieved the statistical rarity six times, Kirilenko three times. It was the second time for Wembanyama (20), who is only at the beginning of his NBA career.
Spurs veteran Chris Paul (39) also showed a strong performance with 19 points, ten assists, seven rebounds and two steals. Collin Sexton scored 16 points for the Utah Jazz, who played without their top scorer Lauri Markkanen (back problems).
