The results of the night in the NBA
Jazz @ Spurs : 111-110
Bulls @ Hawks : 125-113
Nets @ Cavs : 100-105
Raptors @ Clippers : 103-105
– Even trailing 82 to 68 at the end of the 3rd quarter and pushed to their limits, the Cleveland Cavaliers have incredible mental resources at the start of the season. The Cavs are now 11-0 after their home win against Brooklyn. Cleveland is only the 12th team in NBA history to start its season this way.
Darius Garland scored 8 of his 20 points in a 4th quarter that Kenny Atkinson’s men won 38-15, with the help of Evan Mobley (23 pts, 16 rebounds) and Donovan Mitchell (22 pts) . The Ohio franchise was in roller coaster mode, since it led by 15 points in the 2nd quarter, before experiencing a big air gap. This is the first time since the start of the season that the Cavs have not scored 110 points, which did not prevent them from finally beating the Nets of Dennis Schröder (23 pts) and Cam Thomas (22 pts).
– Despite the good return of Devin Vassell (18 pts) after 7 months of absence, the big match of Victor Wembanyama (24 pts, 16 rebounds, 7 blks at 6/9 at 3 points, his career record) and the points record in (young) career of Stephon Castle (23 pts), the Spurs lost by a short head (111-110) at home against the Jazz. Returning to a tie at the end of the 3rd quarter, San Antonio did not find the formula to gain the upper hand over Utah, while Lauri Markkanen was diminished by hip pain. Collin Sexton (23 pts), Jordan Clarkson (16 pts) and John Collins (15 pts) did the job to give their team a second victory this season.

Victor Wembanyama: “I’m not going to stay at 25% my entire career”
– After four defeats in a row, Chicago raised the bar in Atlanta (125-113). Led for a good part of the match, the Bulls were violent in the 4th quarter, in the wake of Ayo Dosunmu (19 pts), Nikola Vucevic (18 pts, 12 rebounds), Zach LaVine and Coby White (18 pts both). Zaccharie Risacher started again for the Hawks and finished with 17 points (6/14). His self-proclaimed “rival”, Matas Buzelis, only played 5 minutes, without being noticed too much.
– The Clippers started with a 0-4 at home, in their brand new Intuit Dome. Here they are back at 3-4 after a third victory in a row at home, this time against the Raptors (105-103). The Californians were still sluggish and contained their visitors at the end of the match to avoid an unexpected defeat. James Harden (24 pts) and the excellent Norman Powell (24 pts), impressive since the start of the season, held down the house with Ivica Zubac (14 pts, 12 rebounds).
