They played thirteen league games, but scored a total of just three goals. The footballers of České Budějovice confirmed their shooting misery in the duel with Liberec, and their coach František Straka was already desperate after the 0:0 draw.
“Unfortunately, it keeps repeating that we don’t convert chances. I don’t know what to do to change that,” the coach of South Bohemia was wringing his hands.
At the same time, Dynamo did not play badly against Liberec. On the contrary. But… “We lack a player with a killer instinct who would put the ball into the net,” Straka said.
His charges had opportunities, but they did not make the net move. “If I take Ekpaia’s chance from the sixth minute, I don’t know what he was doing there. I don’t think it’s possible to ignore it. I don’t understand it,” said the coach.
He intends to speak with the Nigerian winger. And it probably won’t be a pleasant speech for the native of Uy. “I will ask him how he wanted to end it, or what he meant by this solution,” Straka continued to wonder.
Then the quirky coach promised that he would continue to work with his charges on the end. “I believe that once we break the bad luck, that goals will start to fall,” he dreamed.
But when will it be? It already looks like Dynamo’s first league train is leaving. In the table, the South Bohemians are at the bottom of the table due to their poor finish, they have one less point than the number of goals scored.
“However, I thank the players for today’s match, because they did a great job. The boys showed character and I really liked it,” Straka found words of praise.
“”We lost two points today, we should have won the game. I’m a bit sorry for the performance in the first half, when we were unnecessarily nervous, which also led to the mistakes we made. In the second half, however, we were already dominant and showed the performance we imagined,” assessed the coach from České Budějovice.
However, it was still not enough for more than a point against the team that was eliminated from the cup with the third division Hlučín in the week.
“It was not an ideal performance from our side. I saw České Budějovice in the last round against Hradec Králové and we knew that they can be an unpleasant opponent, which was confirmed today. I am sure that they will take some more points at home and other teams will also lose here ,” Slovan coach Radoslav Kováč said.
