There is no doubt that 2024 is being a year of great relevance for fans of manga and Japanese animation. And in recent months we have had to say goodbye to such important mangas as Jujutsu Kaisen or My Hero Academia, a very beloved shonen in Japan that accumulated no less than 10 years of serialization. In contrast, we have been able to enjoy animes as promising as Taste o Kaiju No. 8.
The Blue Box is another of the most promising anime of the year. Its plot tells us the experiences of Taiki Inomata, a badminton enthusiast who is secretly in love with his partner Chinatsu. Thanks to an unexpected turn of events, the boy has had the opportunity to create a close bond with the student. In one of the most interesting scenes of the series, Chinatsu decided to give Taiki a bracelet that she created herself. What did you really want to convey with this small gift?
The following lines include spoilers from episode 2 of The Blue Box.
A very special gift for Taiki
The scene happens in episode 2 of this romance anime. In a conversation between Chinatsu and Taiki, the latter comments that he must hone your skills as a player and accidentally reveals that his goal is to participate in a national badminton tournament. Chinatsu, happy about Taiki’s confession, decides to give him a bracelet identical to the one she wears on her ankle.
Chinatsu explained that this accessory is a lucky bracelet that she designed herself when she decided to stay in Japan instead of moving abroad. The girl also clarified that the bracelet she is wearing is a tangible representation of your efforts and determination. Upon discovering Taiki’s desire, Chinatsu did not hesitate for a second to give him one to wish you luck and encourage you to meet your goals.
Our protagonist enthusiastically accepted Chinatsu’s gift and he promised that he would treasure this bracelet for the rest of his life. The young woman, visibly happy, helped him put it on correctly while sincerely expressing her desire for him to fulfill this ambitious dream.
The Blue Box is the adaptation of the manga created by Kouji Miura in April 2021. The work has become a commercial success for the publisher Shūeisha and its story combines teenage romance with some brushstrokes of spokon.
