Manchester United are very close to finalizing Sporting‘s Ruben Amorim as their new head coach and according to The Athletic, the Portuguese is expected to make his first game at the helm on November 24, when Ipswich are the opposition.
It is already known that Manchester United activates Amorim’s buyout clause of ten million euros, around SEK 115 million. According to The Athletic, the Premier League giant pays another million euros, a little more than ten million kroner, for the coach’s notice period of 30 days not to apply. Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg states that the total bill will land at around 15 million euros, almost 175 million kroner, because Manchester United also buys Amorim’s staff.
Information about the contract is also emerging. If everything goes according to plan, Amorim will sign a contract until 2027 with an option for another year, states Plettenberg. Transfer expert Nicolo Schira sits on similar data and claims that the annual wage envelope will land at 8 million euros, almost 95 million,
Amorim is expected to give an announcement on the Manchester United issue during Friday.
