Will she become the 3rd Miss Guadeloupe to represent France in 5 years (the 5th since the creation of the competition)? Moïra André dreams about it, even if she doesn’t talk about it much. Since her election in mid-September, the 27-year-old young woman has currently spent more time in the field than responding to interviews. Visit to a hospital center, presence at the Cinéstar International Film Festival, Auto Show, she was also able to meet Indira Ampiot, crowned in 2020, and who represents France in the Miss Universe pageant this year.
On a daily basis, Moïra André works with people in precarious situations. Holder of a master’s degree in e-commerce, she works as a digital advisor for beneficiaries of social minima. “Illectronism” is also the cause she chooses to defend as a candidate Miss France. “This concerns any adult who has difficulty using digital tools to use them independently”, a real obstacle to professional integration, according to her.
Entered into the competition by her friends
Why did you register for this competition? The young representative of Guadeloupe indicates that these friends did it for her. “Without them, I wouldn’t be here. Those close to me know that I appreciate this world of misses but that I had never dared to introduce myself. Family, people, can sometimes push you to your limits in order to allow you to realize your dreams,” she explains on the TV set.
Pressure? “A little, because with this stature, we don’t want to disappoint people. (…) But, I gave the best of myself. with the aim of winning this crown and I am proud to have this title of ambassador of Guadeloupe”, she declared, shortly after her election, on Overseas the 1st. Even more proud to represent his town Terre-de-Basa thousand inhabitants, made up of three small islets to the south of the archipelago.
In view of the videos published on her social networks, there is no doubt that the young Guadeloupean will, whatever happens, be welcomed with warmth and friendliness upon her return from her stay in mainland France.
