“F1”, the film set in the world of Formula 1is still in production. The latest images seen during filming show actor and producer Brad Pitt celebrating inside the baseball stadium in Mexico City during the Mexican Grand Prix. We don’t know at the moment if these scenes will be included in the feature film.
Pitt, in addition to playing the role of the protagonist – a pilot named Sonny Hayes who returns from retirement to mentor his young teammate, Joshua Pierceplayed by the English actor Damson Idris – is also credited as a producer. The actor is personally looking for a world-famous artist to balance the too much “testosterone” in the film and also attract female audiences, encouraging them to see Formula 1 cars speeding on the big screen.
As in the blockbuster film “Top Gun: Maverick” – with which “F1” shares director, producers, screenwriters, director of photography and composers – Brad Pitt is looking for a singer to accompany the German composer Hans Zimmertwice Oscar winner, as done by Tom Cruise, who chose the Italian-American singer Lady Gaga.
The main candidates for the role are global pop icons capable of attracting female audiences: American singer-songwriters Billie Eilish, Lana Del Rey and British singer Dua Lipa.
The film, produced by Apple Original Filmswill be distributed by Warner Bros starting June 25, 2025 worldwide and June 27, 2025 in the United States, during the weekend of Austrian Grand Prix.
In addition to the aforementioned Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, the cast will also feature Oscar winner Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia and Shea Whigham. There are also rumors of the presence of important cameos, including that of Lewis Hamiltonwho is also among the producers of the film.
