Willy Adames.
EL NUEVO DIARIO, BOSTON.- The Red Sox were one of the first teams to meet with Juan Soto. And although USA Today correspondent Bob Nightengale still mentions them as one of four possible destinations for the Dominican star, his latest report suggests that the club could be very busy in other areas in the coming weeks.
According to a report from Nightengale, the Red Sox are interested in not only signing one of the top available pitchers like Corbin Burnes, Max Fried or Blake Snell, but they actually want to sign two players from that group. It remains to be seen if that will come to fruition, but they are determined to hire at least one of the lefties (Fried or Snell).
And that’s not all.
The same report suggests that the Red Sox are also heavily involved in negotiations for shortstop Willy Adames, who has indicated he is willing to move to third base under the right circumstances. Obviously, the Red Sox currently have All-Star Rafael Devers at third base, but they are reportedly considering moving him to another position. This could open the door to signing Adames or Alex Bregman, or trying to complete a trade with the Cardinals for Nolan Arenado.
