The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has highlighted the increase of more than 26 percent in the number of licenses in women’s basketball since 2015.
The general director of Youth and Sports, Carlos Yuste, attended the final of the Women’s Basketball Community Board Trophy between Baloncesto Polígono and Club Baloncesto Albacete, which ended with the victory of the Albacete team.
Carlos Yuste, who has been accompanied by the mayor of the town, Juan Ramón Amores, has indicated that in 2015 these licenses were 2,614 while now that number is already at 3,317, he has also highlighted the commitment of the Executive autonomous community with the Castilla-La Mancha Basketball Federation to which aid of more than 600,000 euros has been granted in recent years.
Likewise, he referred to the importance of basketball at an early age for the promotion of this sporting practice and mentioned that there are 2,500 schoolchildren who are part of this discipline in the ‘Somos Deporte 3-18’ program.
