On the morning of November 22, the Xiamen 2024 FISU College Student 3×3 Basketball World Cup, hosted by the International University Sports Federation and co-organized by Huaqiao University, Zhuque Wings Sports Management (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., and Xiamen Sports Industry Group Event Operation Co., Ltd., was held at the Xiamen campus of Huaqiao University The opening ceremony attracted the participation of 24 teams from five continents around the world.
According to reports, the FISU College 3×3 Basketball World Cup was originally called the “World College 3×3 Basketball League”, and the first competition was held in 2015. Since 2016, the International University Sports Federation has been committed to the in-depth development of three-on-three basketball projects and has set up competition areas on five continents around the world, aiming to promote the development of college basketball on a global scale and enhance the friendship between college athletes from various countries and regions. , to improve the physical health of young people around the world. This event has now become officially certified by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and is the top three-on-three basketball event in the world after the Olympic Games and the FIBA Masters. It is favored and participated by college students in various countries and regions around the world. Since 2015, Huaqiao University has hosted this event for five consecutive years.
According to the event selection rules, the qualifying rounds of this event have been held in five continents around the world. Among them, CUBAL’s four powerful teams: Huaqiao University Men’s Basketball Team, Guangdong University of Technology Men’s Basketball Team, Tsinghua University Women’s Basketball Team, and Yunnan Normal University Women’s Basketball Team will participate in the exciting competition in Xiamen.
At the opening ceremony, Hao Fenglin, a first-level inspector of the Department of Sports, Health and Arts of the Ministry of Education, announced the opening of the competition.
