The FISU University 3×3 Basketball World Cup, formerly known as the “World University 3×3 Basketball League”, has become the world’s top 3×3 basketball event after the Olympic Games and FIBA Masters since its first launch in 2015. In 2016, the International University Sports Federation increased its investment in three-on-three basketball projects and established five competition regions in Europe, Asia, Africa, America, and Oceania, aiming to promote the global development of college basketball and strengthen the friendship between college athletes from various countries and regions. , improve the physical health level of young people.

According to the competition rules of the International University Sports Federation, the qualifications for this event have been generated in the qualifying competitions on each continent, and 12 men’s and women’s basketball teams were finally selected to participate. In China, the men’s team of Guangdong University of Technology and the women’s team of Yunnan Normal University advanced directly by winning the Asian University Sports Federation 3-on-3 Basketball Championship. In addition, the host China also selected the men’s team of Huaqiao University and the women’s team of Tsinghua University to participate.

The first game after the opening ceremony was between Huaqiao University and the American University in Cairo. As soon as the referee blew the whistle, the Huaqiao University team quickly entered the state. The players showed excellent personal skills and teamwork ability, and the offensive end flourished. Although the American University in Cairo team tried a variety of tactical adjustments, they were still unable to find an effective way to break the tight defense of the Overseas Chinese University team. After a fierce confrontation, the Huaqiao University team finally won the event with 21:5 and had a good start.
The event is hosted by the International University Sports Federation and jointly organized by Huaqiao University, Zhuque Wings Sports Management (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and Xiamen Sports Industry Group Event Operation Co., Ltd. It will last until November 24, during which group matches, Quarter-finals, semi-finals, finals and shooting contests and many other activities.
