From December 2 to 9, 2024, the city of Bucaramanga, Colombia, will be the scene of the XXVIII South American School Gamesa key event for the development of sports in adolescents between 12 and 14 years old. Organized by the South American Sports Council (CONSUDE)this event brings together participants from 12 member countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and more, who will compete in various sports disciplines representing their educational institutions.
Bucaramanga, the Host City
Known as the “Beautiful City”, Bucaramanga combines natural beauty and modern sports infrastructure. Capital of the department of Santander, this Colombian city is an important economic and cultural hub, with an average warm climate of 24°C and a population of close to 1.9 million inhabitants.
The event will have first-class settings, such as the Luis E. Figueroa Athletics Stadiumhe Bicentennial Coliseumlas Olympic swimming pools and other facilities strategically located to facilitate access for delegations.
A Platform for the Future of Sport
In addition to competition, the Games seek to promote the comprehensive development of young athletes and coaches. This year the participation of young coaches (25 to 35 years old) stands out, encouraging their immersion in international competitions.
Disciplines include athletics, swimming, judo, table tennis and their Paralympic versions. The Argentine delegation will be composed of 60 athletes, 10 coaches and a logistical and medical support teamwith a strong focus on sports development and inclusion.
An Event Organized in Detail
The logistics are designed to guarantee the well-being and performance of the participants. On the part of the organization, the following will be covered:
- Accommodation and food for the delegations.
- Internal transport and security during the event.
- Medical coverage in sports venues and hotels.
- Awards in all disciplines.
Delegations must comply with documentary requirements such as medical records, travel permits and regular student certificates, ensuring transparency and security for all participants.
