Yankees contact two MLB star starters

The Los Angeles Dodgers agreed with the double Cy Young of MLB, Blake Snell, based on five seasons and 182 million dollars, resulting in the New York Yankees being left without the option of signing perhaps the most accomplished pitcher at the beginning of this free agency.

However, the Bronx management is aware that there are other high-ranking starters on the market, so the cabinet has not hesitated to contact their representatives.

The New York Post revealed that Yankees top executive Brian Cashman recently spoke with the agents of Corbin Burnes and Max Fried, although he has not yet made formal offers for any of them.

Burnes, owner of the National Cy Young Award in 2021 when he represented the Milwaukee Brewers, pitched in 2024 with the Baltimore Orioles and left a 15-9 record with a 2.92 ERA in 194.1 innings. The 30-year-old arm is also on the agenda of the Yankees’ traditional rivals, the Boston Red Sox, as well as the San Francisco Giants.

For his part, Fried has just completed another notable season with the Atlanta Braves, his usual team in MLB, since despite his 11-10 record he left 3.25 in earned runs and led the majors in complete games (2). According to USA Today, the Red Sox, Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays are seeking the services of the 30-year-old left-hander.
