Sinner defeats Fritz ATP Finals champion Turin (Italy), Agency. Italian tennis star Yannick Sinner won the ATP Finals title by defeating America’s Taylor Fritz. This is Sinner’s first title on home soil as an ATP World Tour Finals. In the match concluded on Sunday night, Sinner defeated Taylor Fritz in consecutive sets 6-4, 6-4. This is his eighth title in a season. With this victory, he became the first player from his country to become world number one in the history of ATP rankings.
Sinner has received Rs 41 crore 35 lakh as prize for winning the title. After the match, Sinner said, today I served very, very well several times, which was not the case in the entire tournament. There are still some shots and points I could improve on though, but those are small details. But I’m very happy because it’s a great way to end an incredible season. Lots of wins, lots of titles.
