Why badminton? Because badminton is a relaxing and at the same time strenuous activity to work on your fitness. Everyone has hit a shuttle at the campsite or on the beach. The aim is usually to keep the shuttle in the air for as long as possible.
In badminton the idea is to get the shuttle to the opponent as quickly as possible. This results in a fast and attractive sport where good fitness, the correct hitting technique and sophisticated tactics are just as important. Those who are not fast can still win through better technique or by playing smart. Of course, it’s not just about winning. Fun and exercise are just as important. This makes badminton an extremely suitable sport for everyone, from young to old, from recreational to competitive. Moreover, badminton is simply a fun way to be sporty with other people and GSV Heemstede is characterized by a cozy and sporty atmosphere.
On Tuesday evenings we play on 3 courts from 8:15 PM – 10:00 PM in the Sportplaza Groenendaal sports hall. “We” are a group of +/- 20 members, most of whom are 50+, who play badminton quite fanatically in a pleasant, recreational atmosphere.
There is currently room for new players. After consultation, you can come and play a few times without obligation to get a taste of the atmosphere.

Tuesday from 8:15 PM – 10:00 PM.
Season starts September 10, 2024, season ends at the end of April 2025.
Games are played during the autumn and spring holidays, but not during the Christmas holidays.

Contribution season 2024/2025:
€142.50 per year.
