Zoe C. Calvo wins two silvers in the Spanish U11 Badminton Championship

The CD Bádminton Laguna player starred in a brilliant competition, becoming the second best player in Spain in her category.

Zoe C. Calvo has returned from the Spanish U11-19 Badminton Championship in Oviedo with two silvers that accredit her as a potential promise within this sport at the national level. The member of CD Bádminton Laguna de Duero faced the best players on the national scene in an event she attended with her teammates Mateo, Antonio -also in the U11 category- and Gonzalo García -in the U19 category-.

Although García was on the verge of playing – being the number 1 reserve in DM along with Enric Casas – the best news came from the U11 category. Mateo and Antonio had a good competition, standing up to the top seeds in their respective groups and even winning some games, showing desire and character. “Even so, they did not gain access to the final draws, but they did have a great time and returned home with an incredible experience, having enjoyed every point,” the club says.

For her part, Zoe C Calvo came to the tournament as the 6th favorite in IF and the 3rd favorite in DF. The player had a “brilliant and very mature competition, playing very good games, and showing quality details,” they explain from the La Laguna entity. In the finals she could not win, thus obtaining two well-deserved silver medals, proclaiming herself the second best under-11 player in Spain.
