Vegadeo Badminton Club Dominates Asturias Top TTR Tournament
The Vegadeo Badminton Club concluded the penultimate tournament of the 2024 season with a remarkable haul of 14 medals at the Asturias Top TTR Christmas Badminton Tournament held in Oviedo’s Corredoria Arena. This notable performance included seven gold medals, one silver, and six bronze medals, showcasing the club’s exceptional talent and dedication.
leading the charge were Joel Alonso and Mateo amor,who both secured double victories. Alonso triumphed in the under-11 boys’ singles and teamed up with Amor to win the under-13 boys’ doubles.Amor also claimed the under-13 boys’ singles title. Nadia Alonso added to the gold medal tally with victories in both the under-13 girls’ singles and the under-13 girls’ doubles, partnering with Laura Santamarina. Gabriela López rounded out the gold medalists with a win in the under-17 girls’ singles.
Silvia mon and Sara Argüelles secured the silver medal in the under-19 girls’ doubles, while a strong contingent of Vegadeo players earned bronze medals. these included Román González in the absolute men’s singles, Iván Fernández in the under-11 boys’ singles, Álvaro Seijo in the under-13 boys’ singles, Iván Fdez and Ainhoa Rodil in the under-13 mixed doubles, Marta santamarina in the under-13 girls’ singles, and Eneko Rguez in the under-15 boys’ singles.
Adding to the club’s success, former Vegadeo players Ruth Veiguela and Laura Santos, now representing the Oviedo badminton Club and the IES La orden de Huelva respectively, teamed up to win the absolute women’s doubles.
This impressive showing brings the Vegadeo Badminton Club’s total gold medal count for the 2024 season to an astounding 94, achieved across various tournaments throughout Spain.
