BRATISLAVA – Football player Martin Škrtel surprised when he appeared at the opening ceremony of the new theater directed by Ján Ďurovčík – Janart! Although musicals are not exactly his passion, he found time for this evening. And the reason was clear – a long-standing friendship with a well-known director.
Football legend Martin Škrtel skipped his daily duties to support his long-time friend, director Ján Ďurovčík, at the opening ceremony of his new theater. And the well-known director could not have chosen a better title for this occasion than the musical Vyznanie, which caused quite a stir not only in Slovakia, but also in the Czech Republic. But what does the football star say about musicals? “I can’t say I’m a fan of musicals, but when there’s an opportunity like tonight, I’m more than happy to take it. It was a significant day for my friend and acquaintance, so I’m glad I could be a part of it, at least in a spectator way.” Škrtel reveals his motives.
However, as he revealed, he is not completely unfamiliar with music and likes to sing himself. “Yes, very often. I am a big fan of Slovak music, Slovak songs. I’m not saying it’s listenable, but I really like to sing for myself,” he admitted with a smile.
However, when it came to confessions, Martin did not hesitate for a second. He even admitted that even after twenty years of being together, confessions of love are part of their daily life. “We have lived together for a very long time and that love belongs to life. We try to confess it to each other as often as possible,” he added with a smile and even revealed what is behind the success of his long-term marriage. “It always takes two, it’s not just about one person. Of course, love, understanding, understanding and respect – it wouldn’t be possible without it. There are not only good days, but in the bad days you have to endure it, and then you will see how strong the relationship is.” he reveals with humility. With the approaching holidays, we did not avoid the topic of Christmas, for which Martin is already well prepared. And he definitely didn’t skimp on his significant other!
