Seoul Badminton Association Celebrates a Year of Achievements
the Seoul Badminton Association hosted a grand year-end gathering on december 27th, 2024, at the prestigious The Honors Buffet in Seoul’s Jungrang-gu district. This celebratory event served as a platform to acknowledge and appreciate the tireless efforts of dedicated badminton enthusiasts across the city.Spearheaded by the Seoul Badminton Association, the event aimed to express gratitude to individuals who have contributed substantially to the sport’s growth within the city and the broader professional sports arena.
Approximately 100 attendees, including Acting President Choi Gwang-ja, esteemed members of the association’s executive board, representatives from 25 district badminton associations, and dedicated administrative staff, graced the occasion, adding to its meaning.
The evening was dedicated to commemorating the remarkable achievements of the past year and fostering a sense of camaraderie among the badminton community.The event highlighted the growing popularity of badminton in Seoul, mirroring national trends. According to the Korea Badminton Association, participation in badminton has surged by 15% in the past year, with over 2 million registered players nationwide. This surge in popularity can be attributed to the sport’s accessibility, its health benefits, and its growing presence in mainstream media.한 시상식이 진행되었다. 서울특별시장 표창장은 이명훈 아현중학교 지도자와 최유정 중랑구 배드민턴협회 사무장이 수상했다. 서울특별시 체육회장상은 박용제 요넥스 배드민턴팀 감독과 장금화 중랑구 배드민턴협회 부회장이 받았으며, 대한배드민턴협회장 공로상은 안승돈 중랑구 배드민턴협회장에게 돌아갔다.
2024년 서울특별시장기 배드민턴대회 및 서울특별시 배드민턴협회장기 대회에서 우수한 성적을 거둔 구 협회들에 대한 시상도 이어졌다.
제8회 서울특별시장기 배드민턴대회 경기상은 1위 중랑구 배드민턴협회, 2위 송파구 배드민턴협회, 3위 노원구 배드민턴협회, 4위 강남구 배드민턴협회, 5위 강동구 배드민턴협회가 수상했다.
서울특별시 배드민턴협회장기대회 경기상은 1위 중랑구 배드민턴협회, 2위 마포구 배드민턴협회, 3위 동작구 배드민턴협회, 4위 은평구 배드민턴협회, 5위 강서구 배드민턴협회가 수상했다.
송년회의 마지막 순서로 지난 10월에 열린 제105회 전국체육대회에 참가한 선수단에 격려금을 전달하며 선수들의 노고를 치하했다.
최광자 서울특별시 배드민턴협회장 직무대행은 “2024년 서울시 배드민턴협회는 혼란스러운 과거를 정리하고 새로운 방향을 다지는 중요한 한 해였다. 여러분의 신뢰와 협조 덕분에 한 걸음씩 나아가면서 다시 협회를 정상화하고 새롭게 도약할 수 있는 발판을 마련했다. 단순한 운동을 넘어 건강과 교류의 장을 만드는 특별한 스포츠인 배드민턴의 가치를 지켜 나가기 위해 내년에도 우리 모두가 한마음 한 뜻으로 함께 노력하자”라고 말했다.
서울특별시 배드민턴협회는 이번 송년회를 통해 한 해 동안의 성과를 되돌아보고,2025년에도 배드민턴 발전을 위해 더욱 매진할 것을 다짐하며 행사를 마무리했다.
