In Sant’Antimo six women aged between 22 and 44 were taken into custody by the police.
The charge against them concerns a violent assault against a 34-year-old man.
The latter was brutally attacked with baseball bats, episodes that seem to have a connection to sentimental issues that are not yet fully clarified. During this episode of violence, the man was also wounded in the leg by a gunshot. The weapon was used by a thirty-year-old, who was also involved in the assault together with the six women. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of this man after a few weeks. He is currently in prison, held on charges of aggravated assault and illegal possession of a firearm.
The six women involved were arrested on the basis of an order issued by the investigating judge of the North Naples court. Five of them were placed under house arrest. However, one of them, when she was notified of the precautionary measure, was found in possession of 100 grams of cocaine, leading to an arrest in the act. For this reason, she was taken to the Secondigliano prison.
The investigations, led by the Prosecutor’s Office of Naples North and conducted by the Carabinieri of the Sant’Antimo Tenenza, revealed that the attack on the 34-year-old was planned as a sort of punitive expedition. All the individuals involved are linked by family ties.
The reason behind the attack appears to be a private matter: the victim would be the ex-husband of the current partner of the thirty-year-old involved in the accident. Investigators claim that the seven attackers reached the man on the street, starting a violent beating. The women allegedly used baseball bats while the thirty-year-old fired several gunshots, wounding the victim in the leg. After the attack, the man was rescued and taken to Frattamaggiore hospital to receive the necessary treatment. When the police arrived on the scene, the attackers had already left the scene of the crime.
The victim then told the investigators about the beating he suffered, the active role of the six women, and the 30-year-old who grabbed him; Some testimonies from people present at the time of the incident also proved to be decisive.
