Yesterday, Sunday, the 1st of Advent, the final course of this year’s “Student League” took place.
As a reminder: Mixed teams from all over Lower Bavaria, parts of Upper Palatinate and also us Moosburgers in the U9 to U15 age groups fight against each other in the league on several competition days.
Girls against boys, inclusion of ID athletes, introduction of beginners to the competition but also the gathering of further experience for “old hands” – all of this was lived together on the mat here.
This year, a total of over 10 clubs took part with almost 140 judoka.
At yesterday’s course everyone came together again to train together under the guidance of an experienced trainer and to complete many beautiful randoris.
In the league itself, we had to admit defeat against TSV Abensberg, as we have in recent years, and against a fighting group made up of three clubs from the Upper Palatinate, each of which competed with their squad athletes, we as a single club had no support from two other clubs and therefore one Unfortunately, the huge pool of kids left behind. Very close though!
In the end, however, this means a more than deserved third place for the team from Moosburg!
Congratulations to all of our kids!
As a thank you, the club gave everyone who took part at least three times a personal red competition belt with an embroidered name, which will hopefully be used on many occasions for many decades to come.
Some more information at the end:
There are a few changes to the league for 2025:
The rules basically remain the same, but with Mainburg a pre-Corona team is finally back. However, at the end of yesterday’s coaching meeting with numerous criticisms of the maneuvers (but also and above all praise for the organization by Markus Meisl from the Lower Bavarian youth management), the above-mentioned KG from Wörth / Ensdorf / Neutraubling withdrew their participation for 2025.
