Mat Ishbia intends to allow as many local fans as possible to see or come to see Suns games. Since 2023, the owner of the Arizona club has decided to offer free broadcasting of his team’s matches on television, over the air, in Phoenix, Tucson and Yuma.
Now, he has decided to tackle the cost of food, which has become a problem for families.
In 2023, a family of four who wanted to attend a good NBA game would have to pay an average of $444.12 in total, between seats, parking and even food.
From 98 to 24 dollars for a family
“When I walk around the stands at games, there are no food options for families who don’t want to spend a lot of money”explained Mat Ishbia on X/Twitter. “That needs to change, so today we’re launching our menu with $2 options at all Suns home games.”
With a hot dog at $9, a bottle of water at $8.50 and a bag of chips/popcorn at $7, families of four paid $98 for the minimum meal.
Mat Ishbia therefore announces that the price of each item in the family menus will now be capped at 2 dollars. For 6 dollars, Suns fans will be entitled to a “hot dog”, a bottle of water or soda and a bag of chips/popcorn. In total, a family of four will be able to eat at the meeting for $24.
Of course, it’s not great gastronomy but it allows you to settle your stomach for the duration of the match, and especially families with limited means will no longer have the impression of stripping themselves to (poorly) eat.
