A moving ceremony – La République du Center

On Friday, the Jacques-Mazzuca sports hall vibrated with recognition during the annual ceremony for deserving athletes and managers. Hosted by Patrick Langer, head of the municipal sports center, this evening brought together a large crowd filling the first stand.

Representatives from no less than twenty-one sporting disciplines were rewarded, highlighting the talents and commitment of local athletes. Tennis, canoeing, horse riding, basketball, billiards, qwan ki do, sports and artistic swimming, mountain biking, karate, table tennis, water polo, athletics, handball, cycling, archery, badminton, bodybuilding, football , walking and judo: all these sports have seen athletes distinguished by a medal.

A special mention was made to the Cercle omnisports des Cent-Arpents, saluting its essential role in the development and promotion of disabled sports.

This edition was special, because it marked the last ceremony presented by Patrick Langer, whose retirement is announced for July 2025. Elected officials, including Mayor Mathieu Gallois, presented the awards to the many athletes present. At the end of the ceremony Patrick Langer was moved by these “thirty-eight years of listening and trust, the city allowed me to grow, it also allowed me to make my contribution. I am a committed and passionate man, but I am slowly thinking about reducing the pace to preserve my health and my family. »

Mathieu Gallois concluded the evening, welcoming “a beautiful ceremony, particularly warm. The sporting results were praised and congratulated. I am proud of you and the Saranese athletes. We will continue to support you. »

The ceremony also highlighted the potential of Saran’s many promising champions, ready to shine during this new sporting season. This evening offered a wonderful tribute to the efforts and passion of all those involved in local sport, in an atmosphere marked by pride, recognition and emotion.
