The AB Xinzo Basketball Schoolfounded in 2006, has as its main objective promote the practice of basketball among young people in the town and its surroundings. Since its beginnings, The club decidedly opted for women’s sportssomething not very common at that time. Almost two decades later, the work carried out has borne fruit, with up to 100 federated players and teams ranging from five years old to senior level, where the women’s team celebrates its third consecutive season.
More than 200 federation tokens and 18 teams in various categories
Thanks to the constant commitment to training, The school has managed to collect 210 federation tokens, distributed between 18 teams of different categories. Players can begin their sporting career at the age of five and continue within the club until they reach the veteran category. To manage these teams, the club relies on the work of 20 technicians, some of whom travel from other locations to contribute their experience and training.
Teamwork, effort and discipline
One of the pillars of AB Xinzo is its comprehensive approach to the development of its players. In addition to improving technical and physical skills, The club is dedicated to teaching essential values such as teamwork, discipline, effort and respect, both on and off the court.
With a annual budget of about 100,000 eurosthe club seeks to continue demonstrating the fruits of years of work, in order to continue growing as an institution and as a sport in the region. The objective is clear: that boys and girls who start in the club at the age of five can continue until advanced ages, never leaving basketball or the team.
Luis Miguel, president of the club, comments: “The most important thing is that the children feel comfortable in the club, and that we can offer them a wide variety of activities throughout the year”. Furthermore, he emphasizes that “The trips are made by bus, which makes logistics much easier for parents.”
Official presentation of the 2024/2025 season
The past Saturday November 30 The presentation event for the 2024/2025 AB Xinzo season was held at the Xinzo Municipal Pavilion. During the event, group and individual photos of all the teams were taken, which were officially presented to parents and fans, marking the beginning of a new season full of hopes and challenges.
