Dramatic scenes: Florence professional collapses – game abandoned
In the Italian Serie A there was a dramatic incident in the game between AC Fiorentina and Inter Milan: the player Edoardo Bove collapsed on the field.
Italian footballer Edoardo Bove collapsed on the pitch during the Serie A match between Fiorentina and Inter Milan and was taken from the stadium in an ambulance in dramatic moments. The championship game between Boves Fiorentina and the champions from Milan was canceled. Many players and staff were crying, as could be seen on TV footage.
The Florence offensive player and teammate of the DFB national player Robin Gosens collapsed after 16 minutes and remained motionless. The broadcast showed other players and first responders immediately trying to open Bove’s mouth, potentially exposing his tongue. The 22-year-old was then quickly driven straight from the pitch by an ambulance.

According to consistent media reports, the player was then responsive in the clinic and was able to breathe on his own. The Ansa news agency wrote about the suspicion of an epileptic seizure and possibly a cardiac arrest on the pitch. This information has not been officially confirmed.
