Alejandro Pérez, midfielder from Huelva for the CB IES La Orden, takes a bronze and a silver with the U23

He IES La Orden Badminton Club player Alejandro Pérez has become one of the great winners of the III Ibero-American Championship played from December 26 to 1 in El Salvador in which he participated with the Spanish Under 23 Team.

The youth player from Huelva has proclaimed himself runner-up in Mixed Doubles with Cristina Teruel and won bronze in the Men’s Singles.

The albiazul player formed a pair with Cristina Teruel with whom reached the Mixed Doubles final after beating Fabricio Rodríguez and Bárbara Lamas by 22-20 and 21-8, Manuel Mejía and Daniela Hernández by 21-10 and 21-11 and Javier Alas and Fátima Centeno by 21-17 and 21-15.

Already in the final, they met with their teammates Marcos García and Jana Villanueva, previously those who were defeated 21-18 and 21-13getting the money.

In it men’s singles, Pérez He advanced rounds after beating Melvin Calzadilla 21-10 and 21-8 and in the quarterfinals against Gianpero Cavallotti 21-17 and 21-16.

In the semi-final he faced Uriel Canjura in a disputed duel that ended up losing by 14-21 y 16- 21finally achieving bronze. The national team has achieved a total of 8 medals in the championship, confirming the great potential of the Spanish badminton quarry.

CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT

On the other hand, the IES La Orden Badminton Club celebrated last Saturday, November 30 at the Municipal Sports Center of Corrales a Christmas Tournament organized in collaboration with the Sports Department of the Aljaraque City Council and the Corrales Badminton School.

The event brought together almost 175 athletes who played a total of 246 matches in 7 different doubles categories. The most participatory was that of fathers and mothers who formed a couple with their sons and daughters.

The tournament has had the unique sponsorship of Conquero Autorenting, Papelería Enclave and Vanda Vinilos del Sur and has been co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Government of Andalusia.
