The captain of Monbus Obradoiro, Álvaro Muñoz from Avila, is back. Nine months after being injured, he played his first minutes in a Primera FEB match, which pitted the Galicians against Grupo Alega Cantabria, coached by another native of Avila, David Mangas.

On March 3, 2024, in an ACB match, in Fontajau against Básquet Girona, Álvaro Muñoz made poor support and I had to retire to the bench, helped by two teammates. The diagnosis indicated a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Just ten days later, he underwent surgery at the HM Rosaleda Hospital in Santiago de Compostela, by doctors Hermida and Pérez Abilleira. From that moment on, a long period of rehabilitation began, which has culminated successfully with his return to the fields.

It is Álvaro Muñoz’s sixth season in Obradoiro. The Compostelas have the objective of fighting for promotion and returning to the ACB. The player from Ávila attended us at SER Deportivos Ávila, before playing against Real Betis Baloncesto.
