Anderlecht Seeks New Home for Future Stars and Women’s Team
RSC Anderlecht is actively searching for a suitable venue to host the home matches of its promising young talents (RSCA Futures) and its women’s team (RSCA Women) starting in 2025. The club aims to provide a more fitting surroundings for these teams, according to a report by Het Nieuwsblad.
Currently, the RSCA Futures play at the expansive King Baudouin Stadium, which proves to be too large for their relatively modest attendance figures. Additionally, the pitch at Heysel suffers from wear and tear due to the numerous events held there, impacting the quality of the playing surface.Meanwhile, the RSCA Women continue to play at Neerpede.
With Lotto Park unavailable due to scheduling conflicts, Anderlecht has set its sights on a new possibility: the Dakota Arena, formerly known as the Burgemeester Van De Wiele stadium, the former home of MSK Deinze. The stadium has been vacant as the second division club declared bankruptcy, presenting a potential solution for anderlecht.
Though, relocating to Deinze presents some challenges. Belgian football regulations stipulate that teams must play their home games within a 30-kilometer radius of their club headquarters. The distance between Anderlecht and Deinze is approximately 57 kilometers as the crow flies. While there may be room for negotiation, the stadium in Deinze does possess the necessary infrastructure to accommodate television broadcasts, a crucial requirement for professional football.
