Anne Hathaway: Actress lands new leading role

2025 should be a pretty exciting year for Anne Hathaway (42): The American actress has now landed another leading role in a film. As the industry magazine “Deadline” reports, Hathaway will be seen alongside Dave Bautista (55) in an as yet untitled action comedy by Jonathan Tropper (54).

In the film, Hathaway and Bautista will play two undercover FBI agents with vastly different lifestyles who are forced to pretend to live together. At the beginning the two despise each other. As the case draws to a close, they learn to respect each other. The story is said to be inspired by a real-life event, the “Wedding Sting” – an FBI operation in which agents posed as a married couple to infiltrate global criminal operations. The whole thing culminated in a staged wedding in New Jersey. As the crime bosses checked in for their table assignments, they were arrested and taken away.

According to Deadline, Anne Hathaway is also involved in the production of the film with her production company Somewhere Pictures. Co-star Dave Bautista is also involved with his company Dogbone Entertainment. There are no further details about the start of filming or a release date for the new film.

The actress is currently more in demand than ever: It was recently announced that she is working on a third part of the cult classic “Suddenly Princess,” and a sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada” is said to be in the early stages of development. Hathaway will also soon be in front of the camera for the new, star-studded film by Christopher Nolan (54) alongside Zendaya (28), Tom Holland (28), Matt Damon (54), Robert Pattinson (38) and Charlize Theron (49).
