Barletta judo Athletes Shine at National Competition
The “Vito Frangione” sports hall in Palazzo San Gervaso (PZ) hosted the Donato Giannizzari Memorial Judo Finals on December 14th and 15th. This prestigious event, organized by the CSAIN, drew talented young judokas from across Italy, including athletes from ASD Olimpic Barletta and Team Guerrazzi.
Beyond the thrill of competition and the pursuit of medals, the event provided invaluable experience for the Barletta athletes.
“This competition was a pivotal moment for our team,” remarked a spokesperson. “Despite our relatively new gym, which has only been operational for a little over a year, and the seasoned experience of our opponents, our athletes proved that dedication, perseverance, and meticulous training can lead to remarkable results.”
ASD Olimpic Barletta athletes delivered impressive performances, securing several top placements. Giuseppe Spera, competing in the Beginners A category, showcased his skills to earn a well-deserved silver medal, finishing in second place. Gioel mattia Scommegna, representing the Children’s category, fought valiantly to claim the bronze medal with a third-place finish.Daniela Santeramo, a promising young athlete in the Boys category, placed fifth, while Francesco Dicuonzo achieved a commendable fifth-place finish in the Children’s category.
