Backblaze, Inc. announced it will present a case study on accelerating media production with the Philadelphia Eagles at the Sports Video Group (SVG) Summit Cloud Production Workshop on December 16 in New York. It has planned a fast, cloud-based media workflow, including Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage, Mimir asset management software, and a Quantum shared file system, to support accelerated content production to increase fan engagement.
He’s traded the slow access and risk of failure of LTO tapes for instant access to decades of rich content stored in the cloud: No longer will he have to wait days or weeks, or miss it altogether, when he needs historical footage of a player or an action. He achieved early team successes, including allowing his media professionals to log in and make more footage in the critical 48 hours after each game, so they could shift focus to the next game, saving time and hassle making content sharing with external vendors and other organizations much more efficient. The annual SVG Summit is considered the must-attend event for sports production professionals, attracting executives and media team personnel from many professional and college sports leagues and franchises, broadcasting organizations and sports venues.
