Badminton Club Lieshout: A Festive Season Filled with Fun and Games
badminton Club Lieshout is gearing up for a jam-packed holiday season, offering a variety of events for its members to enjoy. From festive tournaments to a lively New Year’s party, there’s something for everyone.
The club kicked off the festivities with a Sinterklaas tournament in early December. Next up is the “frans Biemans Kerstballentoernooi” on December 18th,a fun and lighthearted tournament for both juniors and seniors. Adding to the holiday cheer, Santa Claus himself will be making a special appearance.this will be the last chance to hit the courts in 2024, as the sports hall will be closed on christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
After a short break, the badminton enthusiasts will reunite on January 8th, 2025, for a New Year’s Eve celebration in the Klumper sports hall canteen. The evening will feature speeches, the proclamation of the “Volunteer of the Year,” and plenty of socializing. Before the festivities begin,the juniors will wrap up their regular play session,and afterwards,the seniors will take to the courts for the first matches of 2025.
The fun continues at the end of January with a special games night for seniors on January 24th. The Klumper sports hall canteen will be transformed into a lively game room, where seniors can challenge each other in a variety of physical games, including table football, shuffleboard, giant Jenga, darts, mikado, and more. registration for this exciting event is now open to all senior members.
Badminton Club Lieshout is dedicated to providing its members with a fun and engaging experience both on and off the court. With a packed schedule of events throughout the holiday season, there’s there’s no doubt whatsoever that it will be a memorable time for all.

Moderator: Anneke, Badminton Club Lieshout has a jam-packed schedule planned for the holiday season. What excites you the most about these events?
anneke van der Aar: As a member myself, I can attest to the incredible spirit of the club. I’m particularly looking forward to the “Frans Biemans kerstballentoernooi.” It’s fantastic to see both junior and senior players come together for a fun tournament before we take a breather. Having Santa Claus make an appearance adds a magical touch, especially for the younger players!

Anneke van der Aar: Absolutely. Breaks are essential for physical and mental recovery.Even dedicated athletes need time to unwind and reconnect with family and friends.
Returning refreshed after the holidays allows us to hit the courts with renewed energy and focus in the New Year.

Anneke van der Aar: Social events are the glue that binds us together. They create opportunities for members to connect beyond the badminton court,building relationships and camaraderie. Recognizing a “Volunteer of the Year” is a great way to celebrate the individuals who contribute so much to the club’s success.
Moderator: the Games Night for seniors seems like a unique and fun initiative. How beneficial do you think it is to encourage playful competition and engagement for older members?
Anneke van der Aar: I think it’s fantastic! Staying active and engaged is crucial for everyone, irrespective of age. This event provides seniors with a fun, social environment to exercise their bodies and minds. It also encourages intergenerational connections, which is wonderfully enriching.
