Bogotá, November 30, 2024 The first phase of the national final of the Intercollegiate Games was carried out with resounding success, with which the 176 places qualified to represent Colombia in the XXVIII South American School Games were defined, which will take place held in the city of Bucaramanga from December 3 to 9.

The Ministry of Sports advances in the fulfillment of the largest school competition in Colombia, with the closing of tests in twelve disciplines: Basketball, 3×3 basketball, handball, indoor soccer, judo, swimming, para athletics, para swimming, table tennis, volleyball, chess and athletics; sports that make up the international phase of the games.
In the men’s basketball category, San Andrés emerged as champion by beating the Valle team in an exciting duel that ended 53-51. The gold medal was decided in the last minutes, highlighting the competitive spirit and dedication of both teams. For its part, third place went to Santander, which beat Antioquia with a resounding 71-56, consolidating its dominance on the court.
In the women’s tournament, Santander shone brightly by becoming champion after defeating Huila with a score of 42-34, in a match where strategy and precision were key. In the dispute for bronze, Valle managed to win against Antioquia 59-55 in an exciting match that kept the public expectant until the end.
These results reflect the high level of preparation of the athletes and the dedication of coaches and technical teams, who have worked hard to reach this moment. The San Andrés and Santander teams not only took the gold, but also reaffirmed their position as leaders in Colombian youth basketball.
The completion of this basketball day marks a milestone in the Intercollegiate Games, highlighting the passion and talent that characterizes Colombia’s young athletes.
